Superhero Birthday Party!
I’ll admit it, I go overboard planning my kids birthday parties….but I’m a wedding planner, it’s in my blood, so it can’t be helped!
This year Super T Turned 3!! Last year we threw a lovely train themed birthday party
for our little man. He is over his Thomas obsession so we are on to the next chapter, superheros!
I tried to keep things simple (and I think I succeeded) by having it at home this year. Just a few close friends and family. I did the usual food, superhero sandwiches, villain veggies and dip, power fruit and lightening lemonade.
I did a Photo Booth again this year (it was such a hit with the adults and kids last year) using sparkbooth
on my macbook, I use my mini canon printer to print the pictures so guests have a memento to take home with them. The kids love it because they can operate the Photo Booth themselves and a few fun superhero props never hurt.
I made a punchbox for the kids to punch for a prize. Note to self: next time make them line up in an orderly fashion to avoid several flailing hands frantically punching the tissue paper saying “my turn, my turn”. Ha ha, the joys of a 3 year olds party.
I also wrapped up some cardboard boxes in brick wrapping paper I found at Michaels
and had a set of hulk hands so kids could knock down the brick wall. If there is anything I have learned in the last 3 years, it’s that kids LOVE cardboard boxes!
A few signs here and there, some fun superhero treat bags and voila! All in all, I would say it was a SUPER successful superhero birthday party and nice to take a step back from weddings for a day for some good ol’ family fun!
Happy Birthday Super T, we love you little dude. xoxo
